Stories, bicycles, superheroes and suspiciously photogenic pets.

October is getting interesting around here.

This week, Riversdale has live storytelling, theatre, movies, comedy and hands-on workshops. There's a chance to see familiar movie scenes with an unexpected two-wheeled twist, and Halloween is creeping closer, which means it's perfectly acceptable to spend your Saturday afternoon watching cartoons about zombies.

So, what's up in Riversdale this week?

🚲 THURSDAY: Cycling Shorts + Premium Rush

October 15 | 6:30 PM

Roxy Theatre | 320 20th St. W | Ticketed

What happens when you add a bicycle to your favourite movie scene?

Cycling Shorts is back! Local filmmakers were challenged to recreate a scene from absolutely any kind of media, with one important addition: a bike.

A classic movie scene? The opening of your favourite sitcom? A video game? A music video from 1988? Anything goes, as long as there's a bicycle involved.

Enjoy the creative results on the big screen, followed by Premium Rush, the action-packed thriller about a New York City bicycle messenger.

That's our little taste of what's happening in Riversdale this week.

One of our favourite things about this neighbourhood is that you don't necessarily need an itinerary. Head out the door, walk toward 20th Street or the river, and see what you find.

See you around the neighbourhood!
